Neil Moult

As lead founder of Creating Careers, Neil has driven the business and created a unique enterprise that can flex quickly to take advantage of market opportunities as they arise. With over 25 years’ experience Neil has a solid background in the education and training environment and expert knowledge of the sector.

A highly creative and resourceful individual, Neil has a PCGE, an MA in Company Direction from Leeds Metropolitan University and was one of the first to achieve the Institute of Director’s Chartered Director status. Neil is responsible for finance, strategy and strategic alliances and partnerships. Back to top

John Cavill

Following early career experience in electronic engineering, sales and marketing and the IT industry, John founded Logical Networks Plc, a UK networking services business funded by 3iplc. In 1997 the company was acquired by Datatec Limited (a Johannesburg Stock Exchange Top 40 public company) and John subsequently became a main Board director with responsibility for European acquisitions and business development. In 2000 John left Datatec to found Intermezzo Ventures Ltd, a new venture research and consulting firm, which is also lead investor in Creating Careers.

John holds an MA in Company Direction from Leeds Metropolitan University and an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Management Consulting from Henley Management College. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Directors and Chartered Director, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and Chartered Marketer. In 1995 John received an EFER (European Foundation for Entrepreneurship Research) award as ‘one of Europe’s Top 500 Dynamic Entrepreneurs’ and in 1998 was nominated by 3i Plc for the ‘FT/Cartier Venturer of the Year Award’. John is an Honorary Senior Visiting Fellow at Cass Business School, City University and a Visiting Executive Fellow at Henley Business School, University of Reading, where he is conducting doctoral research into the Characteristics of Entrepreneurial Teams. Claire Veitch

Claire has over 20 years’ experience of business development in education specialising in product development and marketing of online learning services. Previous experience includes positioning a start-up FE training company as a major player in work–based learning (developing and marketing distance learning materials to support 50,000 individuals). Claire has substantial experience within the UK Secondary Education and Further Education sectors and has an excellent knowledge of e-learning environments and applications in colleges and secondary schools. She has a degree in English, an Advanced Diploma in Marketing Communications and Postgraduate Certificate in Online Education (PGCO) and at Creating Careers is responsible for the strategic development and marketing of existing and new products and services. Richard Gray

Richard has over 20 years’ experience in general management and business development for training organisations, including a wide range of experience of developing international business. Richard has worked in the Further Education sector for the last 15 years. He was responsible for the operational side of an organisation providing distance learning opportunities for over 50,000 learners. At Creating Careers Richard is responsible for the development of new relationships with schools and colleges. He is fluent in Spanish and has in-depth experience of managing a sales force and partners across the Hispanic-speaking world. Richard has a PGCE and is a qualified Emotional Intelligence Assessor. He also has an MBA (Exec) in Spanish from one of the leading European Business Schools. Back to top

Jonathan Ovenden

With over 20 years’ experience, Jonathan has spent the last 12 in a Business Development role within the Secondary School and Further Education Sectors. He has overseen the development of partnerships with more than 450 Secondary Schools and Local Authorities and more than 100 FE Colleges, and National Awarding Bodies, including Edexcel, OCR, NCFE and City & Guilds. Jonathan is a qualified Emotional Intelligence Assessor, has a degree in French and German and an MA in Entrepreneurship from the University of Durham Business School. Back to top

Phil Knight

Phil has over 30 years’ experience in Further Education from lecturer through Dean of Faculty of Teaching to Vice Principal (Marketing and Finance). During this time, he has been involved in managing a number of successful national distance learning schemes. As Vice Principal he was responsible for managing the Marketing and Finance of one of the largest FE colleges in the country and was a member of the Further Education Funding Council (FEFC) Tariff Advisory Committee. He was also responsible for setting up, directing and driving forward a highly successful FE College Company involved in recruitment, distance learning and international student recruitment. Phil has an honours degree and is qualified as a FE and HE teacher. Back to top
